VISION STATEMENT

"The vision for the newly renovated Interior Design Department at SVA is to create a professional interior design office atmosphere using the atelier, or workshop, as a model. There is nothing quite as beautiful as the true artisan’s or craftsman’s workshop, an unpretentious space made for the purpose of imagining and creating. What comes to mind is the timeless beauty of sustainable, simple materials, such as wood, paper and paint – worn from use, care and love by passionate individuals fully engaged in their work.”

MATERIALS & FINISHES LIBRARY

The new materials library is an extension of the studio space now rather than a separate entity. The addition of a large centralized work surface will aid in the process of choosing your materials and finishes for future projects.

NOTE: New pictures added 7/22, more 8/12

New Workstations

The new workstations are now almost complete. Students will now have much more functional personal storage space and ample room to maneuver around their desk areas. The overhead storage is just low enough to maintain the openness of the space and still promote communication between students while working in the studio.
